* Fast play high pairs and very strong hands before the
flop. This puts more money in the early pot and encourages weak and garbage hands to fold that could get a lucky flop and beat you.
*You'll want to play few hands from the early
position. Yes, you will throw many hands away by folding early, but you will save a ton of cash.
* Identify Your Players - Whether your opponents are just getting started, or just choose to not really learn the game, more than half of the players there will probably be easy money. You can tell the weak players because they are the ones playing every damn hand, raising all the time, calling everything. The better players are the more silent ones who are probably folding more than they are playing. You want to play against the weaker players and not the stronger ones whenever possible!
* If you find that you have a hand with many
possibilities, you definitely want to play it quickly.
* Study - Practice - The best and easiest tactic to improve your game is to study, study, study and then practice, practice, practice. You can learn books, waching videos and practice at low stakes and free games to get a better feel for poker. Poker has been around for centuries and there is always someone better so study and practice.
* See Lot's of Flops - Not As Many 4th or 5th Streets - Most winning hands are either made, or damn near made on the flop. While you may watch the loose callers getting lucky on 4th and 5th street again. The truth is if you consistently look to 4th and 5th street to for your hand, you are going to lose. In loose low-limit games I will see lots of flops, unless there's lots of raising going on and my hand just sucks, but unless it's either made, or just one card from being made, on the flop.
* Never be intimidated - Whether you play tight, loose or in the middle, an advanced player will work your fears towards their advantage and your disadvantage. More advanced players recognize this and play it to their advantage.
* Most of the time you'll have to fold the
flop, if you find that it doesn't fit your hand .
* Don't be a fish. It is happy at the roulette, slots, or craps trying to get lucky. Good poker players don't try to get lucky. Good online Texas Hold'em poker players play up to their skill hoping that the fish will not get lucky.
* When you have a particular hand that you would like to call
with, try betting instead. This gives the other players the impression that you might be holding a superior hand and their chances of folding might increase.
* Don't Get Trapped - Many newbie at No - Limit Hold'em players think that AA is the end all hand. It isn't! AA is the best STARTING hand. The best case scenario for you if you have AA or KK is that someone else has a good starting hand too and you can put them all-in preflop and then play heads up.
