Party Poker


Ace High
Any hand in which the top card is an ace;

Belly-Buster
This is also known as an inside straight draw or gut shot;

Bicycle
An A-2-3-4-5 holding in a lowball online poker game. Bicycle = Wheel;

Center Pot
This is as opposed to one or more side pots that are created if one or more players goes all-in. The first pot created during a poker hand;

Complete Hand

This is defined by all five cards hand - a straight, flush, straight flush, four of a kind, or full house; Crack
A big hand;

Dead Money
The money left in the pot when a player folds his hand;

Deal Off
To take all the blinds and the button before changing seats or leaving the table. That is, participate through all the blind positions and the dealer position.

Flop
In Online Texas Holdem Poker, each player has two cards dealt to them, and then share five community cards. They do not all get dealt at the same time. There are rounds of betting at certain intervals during the deal. After the first two cards are dealt to each player, there is a round of betting. Then, three of the five community cards are dealt at one time on the board;

Fourth Street
The 2nd upcard in seven-card stud or the first boardcard after the flop in holdem;

Full House
This is a strong hand that ranks between a flush and four of a kind, that consists of three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank;

Heads Up
A pot that is being contested by only two players;

Insurance
A side agreement when someone is all-in for a texas holdem poker player in a pot to put up money that guarantees a payoff of a set amount in case the opponent wins the pot;ff

Limit Poker
A structured poker style that uses fixed limits on betting and raising per round. Limit poker games require specific bet amounts, as opposed to no-limit games in which you can bet the farm if so desired; Meet
Same as call;

Overpair
A pocket pair higher than any card on the flop;

Outrun
To beat; Play the Board
To show down a hand in online texas hold'em poker when your cards don't make a hand any better than is shown on the board;

Prop Player or Prop
A texas holdem poker player that is paid to play. He play with their own money but generally paid hourly to play;

Push
This is when a new dealer replaces an existing dealer at a particular table;

Pushing Bets
Two or more players make an agreement to return bets to each other when one of them wins a pot in which the other or others play;


Rainbow
A flop that contains three different suits, thus no flush can be made on the turn;

Rise
To increase the amount of the bet after the betting has already been opened in a round;

Side Pot

A pot created in which a poker player has no interest because he has run out of chips;

Split Two Pair
A two pair hand in which one of each of your cards' ranks appears on the board as well;

Stone Cold Bluff
This is your hand with no real possibility of winning the hand if your bet is called. This is the act of betting;

Tell
A clue or hint that a online poker player unknowingly gives about the strength of his hand, his next action;

Two Pair
This hand consists two pairs of cards with the same value;

Variance
A measure of the up and down swings your bank-roll goes through. Variance is not necessarily a measure of how well you play; Limit Poker
